{"id":998,"date":"2013-10-31T17:20:28","date_gmt":"2013-10-31T17:20:28","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/mullalys128.com\/wp-sept-15\/?page_id=998"},"modified":"2013-10-31T17:20:28","modified_gmt":"2013-10-31T17:20:28","slug":"mullanium-designs","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"http:\/\/mullalys128.com\/wp-sept-15\/index.php\/jewelry-artists\/mullanium-designs\/","title":{"rendered":"Mullanium Designs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mullalys128.com\/wp-sept-15\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/image.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1000 aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/mullalys128.com\/wp-sept-15\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/image.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><em>Mullanium Designs<\/em><strong>\u00a0<\/strong>is owned and operated by Jim and Tori Mullan, a self-taught artist who grew up in Southern California with an enthusiasm for nature and history.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">As a teenager he became intrigued with old watches, vintage toys, and scientific instruments.\u00a0 In the process of taking things apart and putting them back together, he began pairing some of the old pieces with his favorite things found in nature, such as, birds, dragonflies and animal components to create one-of-a-kind mixed media jewelry and assemblages.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">In\u00a0 1980, Mullan exhibited at his first art show in Florida and enjoyed it so much that he decided to set up shop in Pompano Beach.\u00a0 Shortly thereafter he began exhibiting full-time in juried art shows across the country.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">Tori\u2019s passion for antiques and jewelry began as a child.\u00a0 Her inspiration was her father, a jeweler and antique watch collector.\u00a0 While working in his jewelry store in Port Charlotte, Florida, she became interested in the vintage stones and spare parts that her father used for repairing jewelry and watches.\u00a0 She set her sights on designing jewelry and started creating unique one of a kind earrings and bracelets. She met Jim in 1985 at a show and they soon discovered that they shared many of the same interests in old watches, jewelry and antiques.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #000000;\">The couple combined their individual talents and formed a partnership in work and in life.\u00a0 They are now married, dividing their time between their house in Florida and their cottage in Pennsylvania, along with their dog and three cats.\u00a0 Their fascination of birds, nature, and antiques is still present today and their vast collection of vintage hardware, bird carvings and watches fill up a 3300 square foot studio in Pompano Beach, Florida.\u00a0 Tori and Jim\u2019s collections of jewelry, boxes, mirrors and bird sculptures can be found in over 1000 galleries, museum stores and specialty stores worldwide.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/mullalys128.com\/wp-sept-15\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Mullanium-MO310.jpg\"><span style=\"color: #000000;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-1001 aligncenter\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/mullalys128.com\/wp-sept-15\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/10\/Mullanium-MO310.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" \/><\/span><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>&nbsp; Mullanium Designs\u00a0is owned and operated by Jim and Tori Mullan, a self-taught artist who grew up in Southern California with an enthusiasm for nature and history.
